How do you make AfriClarity glycerine soaps?
All soaps are handmade using the melt and pour method.
What are AfriClarity soaps and Shampoos made from?
They are glycerine based – specially formulated for the hyper-allergenic patient and contains pure glycerine and palm kernel oil, it is pH balanced and does not irritate the skin.
Ideal for babies and can be used as a make-up remover. Hair can be washed and men can shave with this soap also. Glycerine in the soaps makes this product hygroscopic.
What does hygroscopic mean?
Our soaps absorb moisture from the air. You will notice in a humid or rainy climate that our soap develops moisture beads on it – this can also be likened to moisturizing the skin.
Has the palm oil been ethnically sourced?
Our palm oil comes from Lamsoon in Singapore – they are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and are committed to produce palm oil in a sustainable manner.
Are your soaps vegetable based?
Yes, we use plant based glycerine soap.
How does AfriClarity soaps and creams treat Eczema and Psoriasis?
We use Bulbine – much loved for its soothing jelly like sap, is blended with Tea Tree oil, a natural anti-fungal & healing antiseptic or Calendula, an anti-inflammatory & anti-septic.
Which Indigenous Oils are in the AfriClarity Shampoo Bar?
Currently we have a duo in our range for natural and ‘thinning’ hair respectively. We use Coconut and Marula Oils or Baobab Oil, as well as a special blend of pure Indigenous Oils to make our fragrances unique.
What Herbal glycerine soaps do you carry?
Currently we are making Citronella, Activated Charcoal, Colloidal Silver, Hemp, Turmeric & Calendula and African Potato.
What type of colourants & fragrances do you use?
We use natural food colourants and cosmetic grade fragrances, as well as pure Indigenous Essential Oils.
What is the difference between fragrance & Essential Oil?
Fragrance oil is a mix of various chemical components, some natural and some synthetic and sometimes contains Essential Oil and is created by a perfumer adding all these elements together.
Essential Oils are botanical extracts of various plant materials, and do not only originate from flowers, but from herbs, trees and various other plant material.

We have not tested any of our products on animals. Our formulations were bought from and formulated at cosmetic laboratories.
